Tour Description

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN Antananarivo

After being met at the airport, our guide will check you into your hotel. This will give you time to rest and prepare for the next day.

DAY 2: Antananarivo-Antsirabe - 3.5 hours drive

Visit: Ambatolampy - Vakinankaratra

After breakfast, we begin our tour. The drive is long, so you will be dazzled by the landscape of fir and cypress forests. Ambatolampy is a small country town popular with both locals and foreigners, renowned for its aluminum pot making. Along the way, you will find fruit and vegetable vendors along the roadside. Antsirabe is a pretty "spa town" and also known as a water town. Antsirabe has a warm climate with a dry winter. In winter, between July and August, temperatures can drop to around 5°C in the evenings and at night. They sometimes even reach 0°C. We continue our tour of the cathedral, which dates back to the colonial era, in the city center. Rickshaw drivers simply call it the "Thermal".

DAY 3: Antsirabe-Ambositra 3-hour drive

Ambositra is a town of green rice paddies, pine trees, and eucalyptus trees. One thing that characterizes the highlands is its architecture and local marquetry.

DAY 4: Ambositra-Ranomafana 4-hour drive

Visit: Ranomafana Park

Be sure to have breakfast, we continue our tour of Ambositra. Afterward, we continue our journey to the town of Ranomafana. Visit Ranomafana National Park, with its 41,600 hectares of tropical rainforest, where you'll encounter various species of flora and fauna, including lemurs. Ranomafana National Park is made up of dense forest at low and mid-altitudes. Among the floral species visible there are the Rubiaceae, and many others.

DAY 5: Ranomafana, Fianarantsoa, ​​Anjà (3-hour drive)

Visit: Wine market and tasting of authentic local wine, Anjà Reserve

After a good, relaxing sleep, we woke up with a good local coffee at 7:30 a.m. We left the town of Ranomafana to taste fine wine in Fianarantsoa, ​​more precisely in Ambalavao. In the afternoon, we visited the Anjà Reserve. The fabulous journey along the road promises the discovery of numerous parks to explore the Malagasy flora and fauna. The Anja Community Reserve covers about thirty hectares of dry forest, at the foot of a rocky massif surrounded by rice fields and agricultural plots. The landscape is dominated by three granite rock formations.

DAY 6: Ambalavao-Isalo (3-hour drive)

Isalo Park and Window

After a good breakfast, we leave the hotel for the famous Anja Park. Along the way, we'll see beautiful landscapes like the Pope's Hat. We'll then continue through the famous Isalo Park. A huge massif eroded during the Jurassic period, it's one of the most spectacular in the country. The ancestral Bara tribes are here. Meet at the Isalo Window to admire a magnificent sunset.

DAY 7: Isalo-Toliara (4-hour drive)

Transfer to Toliara

After a good breakfast, we hit the road to Tulear. Along the way, we'll stop at the mining villages of Ilakaka and Sakaraha, passing through the tamarind landscape and the tombs of the Mahafale tribes. Afterward, check into your hotel. The town is magnificent with its beautiful colonial infrastructure.

DAY 8: Toliara

Visit: Ifaty Beach

This day is for relaxing at the famous Mangily Beach in Ifaty. You can enjoy the fresh seafood here, all along the white sand. Don't miss the oysters.

DAY 9: Tulear – Relax

A free day to relax and shop for souvenirs.

DAY 10: Tuléar – Antanarivo

At the end of our tour, transfer to Toliara airport for your return flight. A guide will assist you until you reach the airport. (Time will depend on the local flight time.)
